Purchasing your first igloo...selling points to look for...

In Anchorage Alaska, the Parade of Homes 2011 consumer favorites, were mainly Igloo Homes!

Squirrel populations in particular, showed a huge interest in switching from living in nests built in trees, to cozy igloo living, on the ground!

Many squirrel visitors, to the Anchorage Alaska Parade of Homes, were photographed going through the igloos. Visitors consistently offered up positive comments, as they walked though the updated igloo homes!

An average NEW igloo goes for $125,000! However, gently used, refurbished igloos (as shown below) sell for for less than 25,000!

The igloo of 2011 is not your mother’s igloo!

Today’s modern and energy efficient igloo is lined with blue Mylar.

In 1958, The Big Bad Balloon Bistro of Baloonville, purchased five million, one thousand yards of blue Mylar thinking they would make endless blue balloons for kids of all ages!

Unfortunately, The Big Bad Baloon Bistro of Baloonville went out of business in 1959 because kids began demanding other colors of balloons!

In 2009, a builder named Xavier Kookenville purchased all of the blue mylar inventory left over from the days of the Big Bad Baloon Bistro, at auction.

He went to work, lining igloos with the blue mylar and discovered that it kept the igloos really warm during the bitter winter months!  An additional bonus... the blue tones proved to be quite soothing to families with agitated children or adult family members with stress related idiosyncrasies!

"I like the spacious entry ways - I can get in and out with my supplies without any effort at all!"  "If you have a large family, there is plenty of tail room through the well constructed windows"

"I especially like the fact that the igloo can be moved easily! - I can move the doorway to face away from wind and snow!"

"Ohhh I can just picture my sofa in there and a nursery for our babies!!"

"These new modern igloos are are not even cold to the touch!"

"I never thought I'd want to live anywhere but in a tree...but today, after seeing this refurbished igloo, I'm SOLD on igloo living!"

"The best part is that these igloos are move-in-ready!"
