In the state of Texas, squirrels are notorious for stealing bird furnishings. It was time that someone in the bird community come up with a way to put a stop to it.
On July 2, 2008, a squirrel stranger came moseying up to Edna Sixfeather's backyard garden. The squirrel identified himself as Thomas Tootan, a representative of the local Texas Garden Club in Edna's district. He told Edna that her garden had been nominated as one of the best bird gardens in all of Texas!
Edna Sixfeather was elated! She told the squirrel he could feel free to take as many photos of her beautiful garden as he liked.
Just three days later Mr Thomas Tootan, was in jail. It turned out that Thomas Tootan was NOT from the garden society at all! Mr. Tootan was actually a petty thief who used the gardening alias to get into unsuspecting bird's yards and case their property.
Thomas Tootan picked the WRONG yard to violate because Edna Sixfeather's yard was equipped with state-of-the-art, wireless, BIRD-SPY-NANNY-CAMS! The nanny-cams fit in beautifully with Edna's garden!
The nanny-cams fortunately caught Thomas Tootan in the act of calling his burglar friends on his walkie-talkie and giving them the low down of the grounds around Edna's home. Edna called 911 and Thomas Tootan and his gang of hoodlums were rounded up and sent away to Huntsville Prison.
Huntsville Prison is the LAST place a squirrel wants to end up. Rumor has it that the prison got it's name because the warden there likes to hunt. Coincidentally, the warden has won 1st prize for his barbecued squirrel sauce recipe, 15 years in a row at the Texas State Fair.
